Goal: Poverty alleviation and environment enrichment through agroforestry
Purpose/Objective:

The general objective of the assignment is:
Promoting increase in forest resources and improve food security, health situation and environment through agroforestry.
The specific objectives are:
i To coordinate , backstop, monitor and evaluate  the activities of seven participating organisations
ii)To conserve hill ecosystem and improve the livelihood of the communities through agroforestry
iii) To cultivate and conserve germplasm of herbal medicinal plants, and estimate medicinal ingredients in the plants in hill ecosystem through agroforestry
iv) To improve traditional agroforestry system in the farmland and homesteads in sweet water char lands for better livelihood and environment
v) To improve gherland in the coastal ecosystem in term of productivity, profitability and sustainability
vi) To improve cropland agroforestry practices in terrace and coastal ecosystem.
vii) To facilitate late jute seed production through agroforestry  

Objective
(i) will be accomplished by BARC, (ii) by IFESCU, iii) by BFRI, iv) by BAU-AF, v) by KU, vi) by BSMRAU and  vii) by BJRI BSMRAU and vii) by BJRI.

Geographic coverage: Four different ecosystems in Bangladesh, viz., Flood plain   ecosystem; terrace ecosystem, coastal ecosystem and hill ecosystem

Duration: Start  May, 2011  End : September, 2014.
